Dec 31 Currently: December 2021

Well, there goes 2021. Seriously a year where no one had any expectations and still it managed to not reach them. But on the bright side, because of that, there are still so many silver linings that I’ve managed to see and for that I am grateful. Do I wish 2022 to be kinder? Fuck yeah. But 2021 was not too bad to me and I know I am incredibly privileged to say that. December was a roller coaster of emotions though and that always happens towards the end of the year. So I’m just glad we all made it. Sort of.

Loving

I will never not be happy about the holiday season even if it’s year 2 of a different kind of celebration. I had leaves to burn and so I took the last two weeks of the year off and I only checked my work email 3x in that time so I’m quite proud of myself. The days really do blend into each other and I love that, too.
So the company I’ve been at for the past 5.5 years, went for its IPO this month and though I feel like I don’t really have any contributions to that, in my own tiny cog of the wheel bit, I guess I did. It was nice to look back on memories and hang out with some colleagues as we waited for the bell to ring and That was quite nice.
Also, I don’t want to jinx anything but the Spurs lads are NOT doing too bad this past couple of games and I guess we have to thank our new manager Antonio Conte? Like I’m still a skeptic and I was a skeptic then, but so far, it’s not too freaking bad. We’re actually winning and drawing at first (For now!) and so I am loving it.

Working On

Whether it’s zoom or in real life, it’s always nice to Connect with Friends and Family and with the added MLM for Leni component, it’s a double whammy. It’s really nice to spend an hour or so catching up with old friends and seeing what more we can do. I hope we can do more of these in the new year.
There are always end of year rituals that I do and doing Susannah Conway’s Unravel Your Year is always a huge endeavor but totally worth it. There’s the LiveJournal Time Capsule that I write to my future self. There’s my brother Lex’s Top 10 albums of the year and all the favorite media we consumed. But really just good ways to wrap up.

Anticipating

I mean, I’m a huge fan of arbitrary fresh starts and 2022 is exactly what that is. I mean if it helps me become a bette person, then why would I not buy into this arbitrary start right? Here’s to a great year ahead and thank you for making 2021 bearable for me. Thank you for having my back. I am grateful for you.
