Rewind: December 2023

And just like that, 2023 is done. December is always a month of loved ones and catching up but also trying to tie loose ends and making sure we tie the year up in a nice bow, so there’s always going to be mixed feelings there. But all in all, I’m quite satisfied with how this month went!

LOVING

The holiday period is stressful but it’s always nice to reconnect with loved ones. My parents flew in on the 20th and stayed till the 28th and this time around they stayed at my new place because we have the space. My awesome flatmates were home in Manila so we had the whole space to ourselves. and it was quite nice. Especially since my nephew Theo practically lived with us. Auntie life is great cause I can always give him back but there was enough of us to go around. And let’s be real, having my mom there cooking amazing food was such a bonus. It’s stressful and tiring but it was quite nice.

Working On

It’s been hard getting back into an exercise routine and this December gave me some time to figure out what works and what doesn’t. And I know it’ll be a work in progress, but it was a good start. At the start of the month, I did my 2nd 5KM run of the year and my goal was to beat my 19 year old self’s running pace of 7:19 per kilometer. My run in April was 7:40 pace and I know these are slow goals but my usual “run” pace is at the 8:00+ per kilometer. So trying to beat my 19 year old self at 36 years old felt like a good enough leap! And true enough! I did beat myself with a 6:49 pace! I’m excited to try and make this even better in the new year and try my hand at a 10KM run! Oh and new things like Pilates reformer with Jade! Good times!

Feeling

I started my new job in the beginning of December and it’s a change of pace from my 7-year job but I’m feeling encouraged by the first 3 weeks of getting to know my colleagues and customers. It’s hard to begin again but I’m excited and energised to learn new things and meet new people and just generally start all over with hopefully something to bring to the table. If you know anything about customer success, i’m soaking it all up! Wish me luck, I know I’ll need it!
