And that’s a wrap as well on the 2023 Hallmark Holiday movies and I have to say, there have been better years (ahem 2021) but this wasn’t half bad! Yes, Chinggay and I still watched all 45 of them and somehow we found a couple of gems.

5. Never Been Chris'd

You can’t go wrong with Tyler Hynes and they added in some Janelle Parish and high school crushes and being able to relive your past lives. But also there was friendship and the difficult mother-daughter relationships so you know, pretty much a full stack.

4. Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up

How can Lacey Chabert be the Queen of Hallmark if she doesn’t conquer the comedy space as well? Well she’s done it all and she’s done it again with Wes Brown by her side and it’s been glorious. We need another in this series for their wedding, obviously.

3. Holiday Hotline

I do love the way they told this visually and we love a double lives kind of movie. And yes, Niall Matter has grown on me so much that I can’t not include him in this list. Plus who can resist a plucky British lead actress? I know I can’t and I want to see them in more things.

2. A Biltmore Christmas

With Bethany Joy Lenz and Kristoffer Polaha, you can never go wrong. And putting them together in a period piece with some magical realism was a risk but it was worth it because these two can do anything. We need an entire channel devoted to just them with movies all day.

1. Round and Round

When you don’t have big names but it’s the Hanukkah movie, you know you have to trust the system. And 1 in 45 movies always hits the spot. This doesn’t even feel like a Hallmark movie anymore and that’s the highest compliment ever. Bryan Greenberg needs to be in more things, but also Louis Litt as a dad. Who knew.
