I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

It was not the easiest of months, but I’m glad I had breaks in nature and time with friends to get me through. With work getting stressful, I really need all the reprieves I can get.

LOVING

Spontaneous dinners and drinks at home. I’m still getting used to hosting friends at home so it was nice that I was able to get some practice with Denise (who’s city visit I hijacked) and Joy (who’s visiting from Bangkok!). All it takes is cheese and grapes and having some wine on the ready. And some shakshuka because it’s always a good idea and I think I have this under control now. It was just really nice to have them over for chill afternoons and nights in.

WORKING ON

Adapting to an ever-changing workplace. This month, I said goodbye to a teammate and then by the end of it, someone else has resigned. We’re a tiny team of four (plus my boss) and now we’re down to 2. I’ve been feeling the effects of taking on more work and though there are some upsides to it, I’m also feeling more tired than ever. I hope that things start looking up and up. Luckily, I have a great teammate and an awesome boss, so I hope things pan out ok.

FEELING

Rejuvenated by nature. I’ve been trying to find new places and parks to walk in on weekends and I’m glad to discover that I can walk to Fort Canning and back in a couple of hours. I also really liked getting lost on our way to find a hawker center after a Mount Faber walk. With the stress from work mounting, it’s always nice to disconnect for a hot second and I’m loving all the trees.
