I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

Bad Witch

I’m really sad to say goodbye to a series I actually quite enjoyed and came way too late to. I caught the series finale of Good Witch and I didn’t even realise it was the series finale! But also, with how the season has come to, I’m also glad it’s over.

I was talking to Chinggay on our pod and it was just such a downer. It seemed like everything we loved about Good Witch was gone. there were no guests to Grey House who made each episode have a smaller arc that somehow Cassie would help solve with her non-magic magic.

Also, wasn’t she an entrepreneur? Whatever happened to Bell Book and Candle? I miss seeing the main street of the town. And though we got a bit of it with the Abigail flower shop brouhaha, it just felt weird. We got one town event (I think) in the form of that retro event but it felt like a half-assed version of the usual ones.

I get character development, everyone needs to change, but Cassie and Sam (whom I used to adore as a couple because of how steady and adult they were) are now suddenly rife with drama and just somehow not connecting! And if this was NOT the last season, I would be ok, let’s shake things up. But as the series finale, it just felt weird and strange and forced.

I’m going to miss Martha and even Abigail and even the late coming lezzie, Joy! I can’t believe they did Abigail dirty by not giving her the Hallmark fairytale ending! Yes, I’m all for subversion but not this way! Not when you let us think they’re getting married only to break them up!!!

All in all, I wish the season had gone differently, but also just really disappointed in the way it’s been wrapped up. Good Witch you will be missed, but this season, you were pretty bad.
