Python
The first time I heard about Python was from Toby back in the day when he was trying to teach himself. But I never really understood it.
I don’t understand it still. Sure, I’m learning on Coursera when I have the time. dr Chuck has walked me through the fundamentals but it’ll take time before I can actually do something myself.
Lucky for me, Taylor has kindly taken me under his wing and has helped me do two things which I’m quite excited about.
As I’ve written before, I’m time tracking and budget tracking and though I use the apps to see things on aggregate, apparently there’s a lovely Python app that he built that can help me With this.
And sure, I’m just copying off a GitHub code but I was able to figure some things out by myself after many trace back errors. it feels quite amazing when it runs now. I can see my major categories (both time and budget) on what I’m clearly spending way too much time and money on — spoiler: podcasts and drinking but that’s a really good thing to understand.
I’m excited to build more things using Python and I know it’ll take a while but I’m glad I’m starting.
