I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

God Save the Queen

It’s been a week since Queen Elizabeth II passed away. I was literally updating the blog last week about Pivot while checking the news on the BBC on the way home from work. And at first it was all just, she’s sick. They’re concerned. But it all came pretty much like clockwork after.

And I’ve been glued to the BBC app ever since. Their live coverage has been quite good and it’s reminding me of when Princess Diana passed away and we were also glued to cable TV looking at everything.

I’ve always been fascinated by the royals and the Crown’s portrayal of the queen has been incredible. I’ve read about the Mountbatten relationship and I’m now looking forward to read about Philip and Elizabeth, more than the Palace Papers did, which I also enjoyed.

All this pomp and pageantry and all the events happening after her death is quite the spectacle and I’m both excited and nervous to see how King Charles III will keep the monarchy running cause it’s sitting on the edge at the moment.

Most important about all of this is that there’s a new Prince of Wales and seeing how Catherine and the kids are all going to be a bit more in the spotlight makes me excited and hopeful that things turn out ok for all of them.

I look back on my Elizabeth Regina tote bag from the V&A. Apart from her all her service and duty, her merchandise was A+ and I hope she rests in peace.
