I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

Making An Impact

Making An Impact

I’ve always fancied myself a podcast producer even if it’s been pretty much a fun hobby. So when Taylor told me he was interested in producing a slightly more serious podcast (climate! sustainability! social movements!) than my usual fare (i.e. fangirling!), I was up to the challenge!

And so, it was an interesting experience to take a back seat and help someone find their podcast voice and audience and just how things go without being in front of the microphone (or behind it?). A lot of the podcasts I’ve helped create have my voice in it (quite literally) and have been for audiences that I’m a lot more familiar with (hello, fanboys and girls!)

Still, it was interesting to see how the climate community in Singapore all know each other (and how incredibly tiny the world is). The first guest for Making an Impact happens to be someone I apparently now work with! We met at a cafe in the West (again, something I haven’t done in a while — record outdoors).

Also, I didn’t get my siblings to produce the music and artwork (I’ve been so spoiled getting creative siblings to help out) but it’s all been an incredibly wonderful learning experience. I do not thrive in uncertainty, so I have to say I had some uncomfortable moments when I didn’t know how to proceed because of creative difference in opinions.

Still, I’d like to say I’m pretty proud of the final product and I’m excited to embark on this podcast journey. So give it a listen and let me know what you think. I hope in my tiny way, I’m helping make an impact.
