I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

And just like that, we are down to the final months of the year. October was a doozy. I’m so glad I was able to meet up with people (even if one at a time) and got some interesting days off, too. As we wind down the year, I’m just wondering how much more surprises 2021 has in store.

Loving

  • I wouldn’t call myself the most political person, even though I do obsess over American politics. But let’s just say with Philippine politics, I make sure to vote and express displeasure on social media but that’s it. However, that’s changing now. My candidate of choice Leni Robredo has announced her candidacy to win and though it may seem like a long shot, I have to do what I can. So if you’re on the fence or doing something for Leni, reach out to me? I’m trying to see how much more I can do from far away.

  • For more woman power, another Filipino woman made me proud this past month with Maria Ressa was awarded the Nobel Prize (yes, that one) and honestly, amazing and so well deserved. Philippine journalism has been under persecution in our current government and thus the action we have to do (see above). So really, this was just great news all around and I’m so happy we’re getting a spotlight shone on our dire situation.

  • I did my very first staycation with Cynch at Shangri-la after almost 2 years on lockdown. I know this is an incredible privilege and I felt like so incredibly spoiled even for a little bit. Though I do miss the traveling, I know it’ll be a while till my subpar passport will be easily allowed to travel around so for now, it’s the borders of this country and good times with friends.

Working On

  • In an attempt to improve myself, I signed up for beginner python courses and though I’m finding it hard to find time to do them, I’m glad that I’m trying something new. It’s been a while since I learned something new — yes reviewing Spanish on Duolingo isn’t quite it, so I hope I can put this to good use and actually learn it properly.

  • It’s that time of the year when Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas starts and Chinggay and I go through ten million movies and it’s going to be a maddening recording schedule. So wish us luck as we embark on this holiday extravaganza.

Anticipating

  • So, my football team got a new manager (AGAIN) and I don’t know much about Antonio Conte but fans seem to love him but so did Jose Mourinho. I just hope the lads aren’t freaked out with all this upheaval and yes, I wouldn’t mind a couple wins. But I want a happy dressing room!
