I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

The Lucky One

I’ve always been a fangirl (hello, see domain), but I look up to the fans and Swifties that did the hard work of trying to get tickets. Like any fan, I signed up for the lotteries, and wouldn’t say I was the luckiest. But where I’m the lucky one is in my friends, Macy and Chinggay, who put in the work.

We signed up for every stop possible and though I got some codes, I did not get the same amount that Macy and Chinggay did, nor did I refresh as often as I could. But we have been blessed. One fated Wednesday afternoon, as I was rushing between meetings and keeping that Chrome browser on refresh, I get the crazy text message from Macy that said we got it.

Sydney, February 2024. We’re watching the Eras Tour. It’s a bit wild. Sure, I’ve seen the entire tour practically on Tiktok (before I deleted the app due to spending 6 hours on it every day), but it’ll be wild seeing it in person with my fellow Swifties. Macy came through.

I’ve never been to Australia either so this is going to be doubly fun. The last time I traveled for a concert was Coldplay in 2017 in Taiwan and I went alone! What a time before the pandemic when I didn’t have any paranoia and just went because why not.

And so we have tickets for next year and I couldn’t be more excited. I really am the lucky one to have amazing fangirl friends who put in the work. This will be fun.
