I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

Jurassic World Dominion

The first Jurassic Park came out when I was a kid. And I was pretty scared at how realistic it all was. And over the years, I’d catch it on Laser Disc or VHS because I don’t think I could stand seeing the dinosaurs in full size on a big screen. Though the original trilogy were an interesting relic from the past, the redux (sequels) definitely upped the ante.

So seeing the last of the trilogy was definitely something I had to do at the cinemas. It doesn’t hurt that Taylor is also a pretty big Jurassic Park fan and so he had marked this on the calendar months in advanced (and this guy barely pays attention to pop culture).

And it didn’t disappoint. All the call backs to the first trilogy — the fact that the entire gang was reunited (well not the kids). It was nice to see Sam Neill and Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum all age like a fine wine. The way they replicated shots scene for scene from the first movie was also a really fun Easter egg.

Though I’ll admit, I don’t quite remember what happened in the first two Jurassic Worlds, it was easy to just follow along. I’m not the biggest Chris Pratt fan (the least of the Chris’s in my opinion), but it was nice to see him and Bryce Dallas Howard try to figure out parenting a teenager. It’s not easy.

At the end of it all, it seems like they’ve tied up all the loose ends, but something tells me that they could come back to this franchise again a couple years later just because. And honestly, I would be there for it.
