I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

Because September just wouldn’t give me an inch to breathe, it was nice to get a bit of that in October — though not a lot. We’ve entered the last quarter of the year and it’s nuts how fast time flies really. Here’s to a good last two months — cause with 2020, we just never know.

Loving

  • You guys! I tried doing a challenge on Strava that required 20KM total of swims and that made me laugh cause I only usually do less than a KM of swimming each time I do. But I did it. I can’t believe it. I upped my distance and added in another session and it I did it. It feels good. Finishing the 20KM swim challenge!

  • So I fell into a BLACKPINK blackhole thanks to the Netflix documentary on them and honestly, listening to their music has been such an upper this month and I needed that. Who doesn’t want candy-colored music video fun? I still don’t know what it means with titles like Lovesick Girls? Yes, you know I’m in.

  • I reached my four year mark in the company and this has now tied with my last job in Manila in terms of length and I can’t believe it. There are good and bad weeks but I love my team and I like what I do and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to do this. I hope I can still continue to add value somehow.

Working On

  • Reading more books again! I took a mini-break (unintentionally!) from reading because owning a couch and a television are dangerous for me now, but I fiinally re-started the reading and it’s been an interesting couple of reads. I’ll keep you guys posted on them but Becoming Duchess Goldblatt is turning out to be a nice surprise.

  • For some reason, I subjected myself to some Tower Running — but really it’s Tower Brisk-is walking and cursing myself for even trying it out. But there is some satisfaction in reaching the top of a building by not using the lifts. Am I tired and dying on every floor? Sure! But it does put some variety in the running.

Anticipating

  • The end of mercury in retrograde also known as the US Elections. Though I’m not a citizen, I’ve been following their politics forever and have siblings and cousins who live there and would be affected. Lord knows we’ve had enough and seeing the activism come out in the past 4 years has been hopeful but one can never tell.

Keep It

I haven’t done one in a while but credit card fraudsters are the worst! I got an alert about a charge and so I said no, it wasn’t me and thought that was that. Thankfully, I checked in on my running statement and lo and behold, there were multiple (small) transactions and some larger ones pending and I’m just over this. I had a fraud incident a long time ago — Manila days and I cancelled my credit card and didn’t get one until 3 years into Singapore and now, I”m kind of regretting having one again. Ahh, I get crime can be out of desperation but this is just horrible.
