I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

Let's Fall In Love

Let's Fall In Love

How are we in the fall harvest again? Feels like we just kicked things off with Spring fever and now, the leaves are falling and we’re falling in love with pumpkin spice lattes against our better judgment.

We were rewarded though with a shockingly good crop for the last non-holiday season of the year. Autumn always brings it but this year, you just couldn’t tell. I’m very happy with how it turned out over-all.

Follow Me to Daisy Hills

When Jo realizes that her family's general store in Daisy Hills is losing money, her father Duke calls in a favor to help. Duke's help is Jo's ex-boyfriend, Blake, former Daisy Hills native. Stars Cindy Busby and Marshall Williams.

I do love me some Cindy Busby but this guy, is just not my thing. I saw him in a Winterfest movie and I just couldn’t bring myself to root for him or want the lead girl to end up with him. Is it possible to decommission someone? I don’t know.

I actually liked the dad-plot line though I was quite sad that he had to get sick for Jo to realise she really did need help. And even the sister plot line wasn’t too bad. I do want to one day visit a general store where you can find everything in this small town setting.

Now if only we got a new guy instead, I think I would have been able to enjoy this movie more. Sorry, Cindy.

Falling for Look Lodge

Lily dreams of being a hotel event coordinator and is thrilled when she's given the chance to do so by helping Noah, a hotel guest, finish planning his sister Justine's wedding at a remote lodge. Stars Clark Backo and Jonathan Keltz.

Seriously, I would kill for a fresh face any time and we are rewarded with Clark Backo who is just so beautiful and so easy to watch. You just want to root for her. And though I’ve seen Jonathan Keltz in Reign (boy, that was a long time ago!), it’s nice to see him dip his toes in the Hallmark Universe.

I love that Hallmark is trying to do ‘mixed couples’ now and adding more colour to the usual white-on-white or sometimes black-on-black romance. Up next, Asian representation in the leads perhaps? Probably a touch too far but I’ll take what I can get.

Though the wedding plot was really annoying, let’s be real. The two leads were just so new and so pretty to look at that I wasn’t going to complain too much about it.

Country At Heart

A struggling country singer meets a Nashville songwriter in need of inspiration. Teaming up to write a song, their work gets complicated but results in both a hit song...and true love. Stars Jessy Schram and Niall Matter and Lucas Bryant.

I really wanted to like this one because Niall AND Lucas but then if you listened to the latest pod with Chinggay, (No) Thank You For the Music, you will know that I struggled through this one. And I’m not even opposed to Jessy Schram.

I guess there was just no chemistry for me? Or I was super tired? I will try to give it another go because I do love a country movie and I love the two main leads but there was just a bit too much going on at first watch.

Maybe next time, they’ll give Niall another go at a musical movie because he really has grown on me, surprisingly.

My Best Friend’s Bouquet

Josie Hughes is a hopeless romantic who believes in the kind of romance in black-and-white movies where the leading lady finds her one true love and gets swept off her feet. She also believes the wedding bouquet always finds its way to the right person when tossed by the bride, as proven time and again at weddings dating back to her childhood. But single Josie ends up with the bouquet at her friend Emma’s wedding instead of their not-single friend Athena and fears she’s wrecked her chances of getting engaged. But when Josie begins dating eligible bachelor Will after meeting at the reception, she decides the bouquet is responsible for the budding romance and begins to think that Will is “the one.” As Josie clings to the notion that the bouquet is always right, she’s missing the real-world signs that her perfect match is someone else who’s been right in front of her all along. Starring Chaley Rose and Nathan Witte.

The unexpected favorite I didn’t know I needed. This is what happens when you put fresh faces and a great plot together but really, it was in the skillful hands of Chaley Rose and Nathan Witte that made me root for this movie altogether.

It was nice to see that both of the leads tried to date other people who weren’t utterly horrible. Of course they had their flaws but it was nice that we could pretend for a bit that there was a fighting chance, even if there wasn’t.

But really, the best friends trope where one person is in love and the other isn’t could go so wrong but it went so right with them. Chaley needs to be in more things because adorable and likeable!

Sweet Autumn

Aunt Dee splits her candy shop between her niece, Maggie, and maple farmer, Dex. Following letters Dee left, the two uncover the reason for her decision, during the Sweet Autumn festival. Starring Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker.

When you have an Andrew Walker and Nikki DeLoach movie, it is very hard for it to badly and seeing them back together for a third time now really just cements why this partnership works.

We get our usual, have to work together because of an inheritance plot line but with these two, they make it fresh! The love of motorcycles is adorable and that last kiss felt hotter than the usual Hallmark standards.

Give them a fourth movie together because I will never be over these two.
