A Slight Change of Plans
So I read on Twitter, that Spotify’s end of year list only counts your data up to October 31 which reminded me that it’s high time to start narrowing down my 2021 list of albums because my brother Lex will be sending that email to the family soon and I should be ready anyway. So for the sake of helping me cut down my list, here are some songs I liked this past quarter. Though really, I listened to a lot of classical given I’m working from home and needed to concentrate. A lot.
Sweet Dream by Alessia Cara
Alessia Cara is back in my life and I’m very happy about it. I listened to her Summer EP to death and I’m so glad to just have something new from her that isn’t an acoustic version (though she has some of those, too! I have yet to listen to the full album but I’m excited for In the Meantime given her track record with me. Fingers crossed I repeat it just as much as I did her EP.
Mood Ring by Lorde
LORDE IS BACK and she’s happy and sunny and un-Lorde like, but I like it. I do love a refresh on an image because people grow and change and it makes the artist a lot more interesting, amirite? So having said that, I do miss the moody Lorde but Mood Ring gives me a nice little bop to that I can still feel like we have some old Lorde.
breadwinner by Kacey Musgraves
And Kacey is back too! I listened to her on A Slight Change of Plans and she talked about the album creation process which made me more excited for the album to come out. Though it hasn’t grown on me the way Golden Hour did, I’m just happy to have new music back in my life from Miss Musgraves. Also, cute videos to boot, I can’t complain.
