I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

She’s done it again. Taylor Swift has re-released Red (Taylor’s Version) and the internet is ablaze. I have ot say that Red was a pretty big album for me when it first came out and I loved All Too Well A LOT, maybe way too much in fact.

So when she announced there was a 10 minute version that she would be releasing, I knew it was bound to be a) an emotional rollercoaster and b) something I would have on repeat forever. And well, I wasn’t wrong. I’m glad my little sister Paola isn’t my roommate anymore or that I live alone for that matter because anyone hearing this over and over again would probably go nuts.

And let me be clear, I love Jake Gyllenhaal. I’ve always had the hugest crush on him pre-Taylor and post-Taylor so this isn’t a referendum on him at all. I feel bad he’s getting all this hate but come on, look at this video. It’s gorgeous and heart-wrenching and just painful.

Swift, as always is a master of marketing and the roll out from this short film to performing all ten minutes on SNL to just hyping the shit out of it and mobilizing the fandom to build on that hype is really a masterclass. I appreciate the spectacle behind it all on top of the music so it feels doubly entertaining when there’s new Taylor music.

I can’t wait to see what she has in store for her 1989 re-release because that just has a special place in my heart. Blank Space, anyone?
