I thought that if i let anyone in, they’d find out what was broken about me. And then not only would they know, i’d know too.

PS, I'm Still Excited About This

I can still remember clearly how my world turned upside down with Netflix’s adaptation of Jenny Han’s book To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before. I had read the YA series a couple years back after much fanfare from friends and I fell in love.

Flash forward to August 2018, I remember clearly the MANIA (is the best word for it) that Chinggay, Macy and I felt when the movie came out that we wrote an entire newsletter about it. Shameless plug to sign up for our Future Media Empire missive. It’s sporadic but thoroughly entertaining, but I digress. The point is, this had taken over our lives.

I had made a rookie mistake of roping in my roomies (people who were not that into rom-coms as I was) to watch it with me for the first time. And during the entire movie, I had spent it watching them watch the movie. Did they like it? Did they understand it? Did they feel as much as I felt? Basically, I had to rectify this by re-watching it by myself so I could feel the feels in privacy, without anyone’s judgment — I know there’s something wrong with me.

And so with PS I Still Love You dropping it’s trailer and promising me a post-birthday gift next year (it drops on the 12th of February), also known as the day after my 33rd birthday — God knows if I”m still in their demographic, I’m excited to see how the second movie lives up to the first.

Though Noah Centineo’s charm has long since waned with his less than Peter K standards appearnaces on social media, Peter Kavinsky still holds a place in my heart. I’m sure that fire can be rekindled. I’m excited to see Lana Condor bring back Lara Jean to life and for the Covey sisters and family to brighten up my screen.

I’m still on the fence on the re-casting of John Ambrose McLaren, but I’ll hold judgment until then. After all I’m but a spectator and there’s an entire team of experts that have screen tested this with audiences. Who am I to judge. So here’s to the wait until February 12th! Goodness knows I still have time to do a couple more re-watches. Who’s with me?
